Learn Poker: The 30-Day Progression Plan
Not a list of tips: a curriculum. Four weeks, a precise order of concepts, and this blog's articles as the textbook — the shortest path from “I know the rules” to “I win”.

You can learn poker alone, for free, in a few weeks — millions of players have. What most people lack is neither motivation nor resources: it's the ORDER. Learning the 3-bet before positions is learning to conjugate before the alphabet. Here's the curriculum, week by week, with this blog's articles as the textbook.
The principle: one concept at a time, in the right order
Poker stacks: every concept builds on the previous one. The reading grid — first WHAT to play (hands, positions), then HOW to play it (ranges, betting), then INSIDE WHAT FRAME (bankroll, mindset). Thirty minutes a day is enough: fifteen of targeted reading, fifteen of practice. Consistency beats intensity — seven thirty-minute sessions outperform one Sunday binge.
Week 1 — Foundations
- Days 1-2: the rules and the flow of a hand (our reference article) — until you can explain them to someone else.
- Days 3-4: hand rankings and combinations — the hierarchy must become a reflex.
- Days 5-7: table positions — WHY the button is gold, plus first micro-stakes sessions applying “tight and in position”.
Week 2 — Preflop
- Days 8-10: preflop ranges — understand the logic of a 13×13 chart, don't memorize it.
- Days 11-12: drill opening ranges position by position (exactly what the Trainer is for).
- Days 13-14: short-stack push or fold — the fastest-paying skill in tournament poker.
Week 3 — Postflop
- Days 15-17: the useful math — outs, the rule of 4 and 2, pot odds. Three tools, no more.
- Days 18-19: the c-bet — when to keep betting, at what size.
- Days 20-21: replay your marked hands of the week and compare your lines to the solutions.
Week 4 — The winner's frame
- Days 22-24: bankroll — how many buy-ins, when to move up, when to move down. Non-negotiable.
- Days 25-26: tilt and the mental game — recognize YOUR triggers before they cost you.
- Days 27-30: structured volume — play, write one lesson per session, and measure your accuracy in the Trainer.
The three mistakes that keep beginners stuck
- Learning without playing: unpracticed theory evaporates within 48 hours.
- Playing without reviewing: volume alone re-engraves the same mistakes — review is half the work.
- Passive content: ten videos watched are worth less than one session of graded drills — our training article explains the full method.
And after the 30 days?
You'll have the foundations — the next level is won through measured repetition: ICM for tournaments, PKO formats, advanced postflop. That's exactly the road the PokGenius learning paths mark out: each step unlocks the next, the Trainer measures your accuracy on every spot, and you KNOW what's acquired instead of hoping. Start free — in thirty days, the table won't look anything like it does today.
